ವೀರಗಲ್ಲು - ದೊಡ್ಡಗದ್ದವಳ್ಳಿ

ದೊಡ್ಡಗದ್ದವಳ್ಳಿ ಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಆವರಣದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ವೀರಗಲ್ಲು ಶಾಸನ (ಕಾಲ: ಸು ೧೧೨೬-೨೭)

"This damaged hero-stone record is set up in memory of a cavalier (name lost) who died in a battle against (?) Boppadeva during the reign of Chikka Bittideva. It refers to 'mahaamandaleshwara' Bittideva and to the cyclic year Paraabhava. The record is in c. 12th century characters and the date may probably be equated with 1126-27 AD., in the reign of Vishnuvardhana."

ಕುದುರೆಗಾಳಗದ ದೃಶ್ಯವನ್ನೂ, ಕಾಳಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಡಿದ ವೀರನನ್ನು ಅಪ್ಸರೆಯರು ಸ್ವರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಂಡೊಯ್ಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ದೃಶ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಬಹುದು.
